Why Drama?
Teamwork
Theatre promotes teamwork through the production of plays or scenes. Students are required to work in a positive way with all involved.
Support for Education
Theatre is literally the study of, everything! Human behavior, art, history, science, construction, literature, reading, writing, math and more!
Attendance
Students participating in a drama program are more likely to attend school so that they can participate in the after school program.
SAT Scores!
Students involved in drama performance coursework or experience, outscored non-arts students on the 2005 SAT by an average of 65 points in the verbal component and 34 points in the math component.
Self Esteem and Confidence
Students participating in drama programs increase their self esteem and confidence.
Social Skills
With the advent of cellular phones with internet and apps, students are lacking key communication skills. Drama classes and programs help to bring these skills back.
