    Good morning! Today’s kindness challenge is to write a quick thank-you note—or even just say thank you—to someone who helps you during the day. Gratitude spreads positivity, and you might make someone’s day brighter just by noticing what they do.

    Here we go again! 6th grade volleyball has another game tonight in B gym and we would love to see you there! Come show your support by filling the stands and cheering them on as they finish up their season and head into their end of year tournament. Lets Go Mustangs!

    Mustangs, kindness isn’t just for others—it’s also for yourself. Today’s self-care challenge is to take five deep breaths when you feel stressed. Pause, breathe, and remind yourself that taking care of your mind and body is just as important as helping others.

    Its Volleyball time! Come watch the 6th grade volleyball players at their games today and tomorrow in B gym. We love seeing the stands fill up and hope you can help make that happen! These girls have worked so hard and would love your support! Go Mustangs!!

    Happy Tuesday! Today’s kindness challenge is to hold the door open for at least three people. It’s a small action, but it shows respect and makes our school a friendlier place for everyone.

    The boys soccer team went up against Valor yesterday in a tough match. Learning a lot out of the match as they get ready for their match vs Cascade on Wednesday here at Patton, with a goal from Rei and a good performances by Green-e and Mason the boys hope to keep up their development going moving forward in the season.

    8th grade Volleyball against Lebanon  Both teams won today! B Team  Brooklyn, Brylie and Isabella had 2 kills. Elli with 3 assists and Alaina with 2.  Brylie and Isabella with 8 aces. Isabella and eleanora with a block   A team  Abby with 7 aces and 10 assists.  Gisele with 4 kills and 1 ace.  Lennon with 2 kills and 3 aces  Carly with 2 kills and 3 aces.   Good job ladies.

    The girls soccer team won their game on the road against Valor. Mia V with two goals and Lani with 1 goal. From trailing 1-0, to winning the game 3-1, these girls showed determination, grit, and commitment to finish strong. Good job Mustangs!

    Do you have a talent for sending chills down people’s spines? Enter the library’s Two-Sentence Scary Story Contest—where the fright is short, but the fear is real. Submit your creepiest creation before October 30th, and you might just sneak away with a hauntingly great prize! Winners will be announced on Halloween.     It’s Patton Cares Week! This week, we’ll do several activities to spreading caring and kindness to each other including a daily kindness challenge. Today’s kindness challenge is simple: surprise someone with a compliment. Whether it’s a friend, teacher, or classmate you don’t usually talk to, let them know something positive about them. A kind word can change someone’s whole day!

    Congratulations to the 6th grade volleyball teams on Friday! They all played absolutely incredibly!! We saw awesome over hand serves, great digs, teamwork, communication, and spirit! There is only two weeks left in the season and we really hope you can make it out to see one of our few remaining games! More details to come. Way to go Mustangs!!

    Sports Registration for 7th & 8th grade Boys Basketball, and Girls Wrestling is now open! To sign-up for sports, your parents will need to register you online, pay the athletic fee, and have a sports physical, and medical insurance. If you have any questions, please see the main office for details. The deadline to register for sports is October 24th, so do not wait until the last day to register! There are limited spots available for Boys Basketball.

    The boys soccer team played Silverton yesterday ending the game with a 7-1 victory from the mustangs. With an amazing free kick goal from Carlos, a brace from JJ and Jayden and a goal from Rei and Kevin. With great defensive work from Mason, Hector, Gerardo and Christopher and a clean sheet from keeper Greeny.

    8th grade volleyball played against Sweet Home. A team got the win with Kyah having 5 kills and 1 dig, Ava had 6 aces, Carly had 10 aces and 3 kills, Gisele had 2 blocks, 6 kills and 2 assists, Jahzet had 9 digs, Abby had 4 aces and 12 assists, Lennon had 6 aces, 2 digs and 3 kills, and Adelyn had 2 kills.  B team fought really hard with Aizlyn having 3 digs, Elli had 1 ace and 4 digs, Bella had 2 kills, 2 aces, and 3 digs, Alaina had 11 aces and 3 digs, Brylee had 5 digs and 1 ace, Ava had 4 aces and 3 digs. Great job mustangs!!

    7th Grade volleyball played against sweet home last night.  Both teams fought hard. A team  Summer had 3 aces  Grace 1 ace and 1 hit.  Natalie and Nichole with 1 ace Maya K with 4 digs and 1 ace  B team  Kadence with 9 aces  Nichole with 5 aces  Cora with tip  Maya S with an awesome hit.   Good job ladies. Go Mustangs!

    The boys soccer team played a two thrilling matches against Duniway yesterday with great intensity and great goals from JJ, Jayden and Carlos. With the second match finishing up with a 8-1 win for the Mustangs with 2 goals from Aron, Kevin, and Angel and a goal from Greene and Josue. The boys get ready to go up against Silverton this Wednesday at 4 here at Patton.

    Girls Soccer won their game 2-0 against the Duniway Dragons, Mia V with a goal in the first half and Lani C with a second goal to make it 2-0. Great job to our defense and keepers for keeping a clean sheet! Great teamwork, effort, and determination from start to finish. Proud of this group and excited for what’s ahead!

    Congratulations to the 6th grade volleyball teams on their successful games on Friday. We loved seeing the effort, the excitement, and the smiles! Everyone played so well and did such a great job adjusting and cheering on one another! Keep up the great work!! Next game will be this Friday in B gym. Hope to see you there!

    This is a reminder that coffee drinks, Starbucks, dutch bros, energy drinks, sodas, etc. are NOT ALLOWED at school for students.

    Next week is Spirit Week! Participate to earn spirit points for your grade level. Currently, 8th grade is winning! Monday: Tourist Day. Tuesday: Sports Day. Wednesday: Western Day.  Thursday: Silly Socks. Friday: School Colors! 6th grade wear Blue, 7the grade wear black, 8th grade wear white! You can find this information on posters around school, on the school instagram, and on the grade level classrooms!

    Come watch the 6th grade volleyball game today after school in the B gym. We would love to see you cheering in the stands and supporting our intramural volleyball players! These athletes have been working so hard and would love for you to join them in this Patton vs Patton game tonight! We hope to see you there. Go mustangs!

    8th grade volleyball won all sets against Valor. For B team Bella had 5 aces and 1 kill, Alaina had 15 aces and one assist, Brylee had 6 aces, Carly had 2 aces and 2 kills, and Adelynn had 3 aces. For A team, Abby had 10 aces and 3 assists, Lennon had 6 aces, Gisele had 4 aces and 3 kills, Ava had 3 aces, Jahzet had 3 aces, and Addy had 2 aces and 2 kills. Great job 8th grade.

    The boys soccer went up against North Marion in a thrilling match, with the boys picking up the W 4-3. JJ scoring a brace and Rei and Jayden both scoring stunning goals. They will get back to work as they face off against Duniway in the McMinnville Derby on Monday at Duniway.   GO MUSTANGS!

    7th Grade volleyball played against Cascade.   A team Maya K. Had some amazing digs, one-handed saves and consistent serves. Her hustle is inspiring.  Grace had an awesome kill. Good serves and a great attitude.  B team  Cora had 6 aces  Priscilla had 5 aces and one tip  Rayna and Maya H. Showed amazing hustle today saving fly away balls and getting some awesome digs brining us up from a 7 point lead.   Go Mustangs!

    8th grade volleyball played against Cascade yesterday. They did great! A team pulled out the win and B team did great, but didn’t get the win this time. Here are the stats… For A team Carly had 7 aces, Gisele had 8 aces and 2 kills, Addie had 2 aces and 1 kill, Abby had 2 aces and 4 assists. For B team, Bella had 6 aces, Alaina had 4 aces, Brylee had 9 aces, Ava H had 3 aces and 1 kill, Brook had one ace and 1 kill.  Great job 8th grade.

    Due to low turnout we will not be offering the wrestling club on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

    Congratulations to all our 6th grade volleyball players!! They all played so hard at their first game Friday and your coaches are so proud of you! You showed a lot of skill with your serves and passes and great sportsmanship from cheering on your teammates as well as congratulating the other team! Way to represent! Go mustangs!!

    7th Grade volleyball against North Marion.   A team took home a win! Evelyn had 3 aces  Summer had 1 ace   B team  Kadence had7 aces  Lilah had 3 aces   Go Mustangs!

    8th grade volleyball had a clean sweep over N. Marion winning all sets.  B team started us off strong with Alaina having 13 aces, Brylie with 9 aces, Brook and Aizlyn both had 1 kill, Elli and Bella had 2 kills. Elli had 5 assists and Alaina had 2. Next, A team Abby had 6 aces, Ava had 4 aces, Gisele had 5 kills and Abby had 2. Addie and Lennon both had 1 kill. Great job 8th grade volleyball.

    Auditions are coming up for our fall play: Arsenic and Old Lace. Drama critic Mortimer Brewster is excited to announce his engagement—until he finds a body hidden in the window seat at his sweet old aunts’ house. Audition and be a part of this hilarious show and find out the truth! Auditions are Tuesday Sept 23rd in the drama room from 3:15-5. Pick up an audition packet outside Mrs. Wilcox’s door! Crew sign ups will start October 6.

    Interested in wrestling? Come to the After-School Wrestling Club on Tuesdays and Wednesdays! Learn some moves, play games on the mats, and have fun with Mr. Harney and Mr. Barnes. Thinking about joining the winter wrestling team? This is the perfect place to start!

    The boys soccer team kicked off their season yesterday with a delightful performance of football going head to head vs French Prairie. JJ assisted Jayden who had a fantastic outside the box shot tying the game in the last last minute 1-1. Greene had key saves, and captains Rei and Aron gave excellent leadership. Carlos, Kevin, Hector, Gerardo, Christopher and Angel with a wonderful performance as well as the rest of the team.  Let’s keep kicking Mustangs!
