Mr. Wilson

Please congratulate the wrestlers on an outstanding showing at the Middle School Regional Tournament this past weekend.  In what was the most grueling middle school tournament of the year, our Patton wrestlers shined. Mickey Johnson paced the team with a 5th place finish in a 32 man bracket.  This finish got Mickey onto the podium, and qualified him for the Middle School State Championships this weekend. Max Vander Meide also had a very strong showing, piling up several wins to get himself into the quarterfinals.  Max showed the 26 kids in his weight class that he is a force to be reckoned with. Justin Jackson also competed despite feeling under the weather. Justin raised some eyebrows in his first year competing in the sport of wrestling.  Justin will be a leader next year. Mason Marshall competed against 27 other wrestlers in his weight class. Mason battled fiercely and unfortunately suffered a minor injury in his final match. Connor Clifford also took to the mat for the Mustangs, and despite giving up several pounds to his opponents he wrestled his heart out.  We look forward to Connor suiting up for the Mustangs again next year as an 8th grader. Wrestlers, there are spring workouts starting this week. If you need information on those, please see Mr. Wilson.

Gradek/Payne

Mr. Payne, Ms. Gradek and Mr. Silver would like to say thanks for a great intramural basketball season.  Nice job to everyone who played and special thanks to our stats crew! Anyone is welcome to come, but it will be a peaceful, reading only space.  If you currently aren't in the middle of a novel, come check one out tomorrow morning and join the fun!

Congratulations to Patton's Robotics Team Waka-Chaka for a tremendous performance at the FTC qualifying tournament. 18 high school and middle school teams competed Saturday at Philomath High School.   The Patton team was part of the winning alliance and also won the Collins Aerospace Innovate Award. The award celebrates a team that thinks outside the box, has the ingenuity and inventiveness to make their designs come to life and is given to the team that has the most innovative and creative robot design.   Patton will be competing along with the two McMinnville High School teams at the Super Qualifier tournament next month in Hillsboro.

Just a reminder to students that use the library for morning activity time.  Wednesday morning we had a large crowd, and when everyone left for 1st period, it was a disaster.  Most of the chairs were left untucked, including all the chairs at the computers and at the brown tables.  A few games were left out. Unfortunately today the gym will be closed during B-lunch.  Continued inappropriate behaviors by several students using the gym have made it necessary for us to close the gym area today.  In order to use the gym area and play basketball we need to have students behaving safely and following the directions of the adult supervisors.  This only impacts the gym during B-Lunch. Thank you Mustangs.
